Life was meant to be run with a PACE!

I love to run! I took up running three years ago. I started very slow, maybe running a couple of yards. I gradually got up to one mile, then two miles and now I can run a 5K!  I started to realize that running was an art.  The same techniques applied to running applies to life.  Thus, the name of this blog entry:  Life was meant to be run with a P. A. C. E.

Preparation- preparation is key in running.  Before you run, you must make sure you have the proper shoes and adequate clothing.  I also suggest a playlist of songs to keep you motivated.  In life you also have to be prepared.  You must know three things:
  1. Who you are?
  2. What you have?
  3. Where you are going in life?
Adjust your breathing- I quickly came to the realization that adjusting my breathing was key to me running successfully.  When I trained myself to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth allowed me to run longer distances. In life, your overall health is dictated by how you breathe. When you control your breathing through meditation and relaxing, your health improves and causes you to enjoy your life.


Conserve your energy- When you running longer distances, you must learn to conserve your energy. You don't start out running a fast pace, because that will use up a lot of energy.  As for as your life, don't always be an emotional starter.  What is an "emotional starter"? An emotional starter is a person who gets very excited and starts something, but lose loses energy through the process and does not finish. Refrain from being an emotional starter and learn to commit to whatever you do.



Expect to finish- As a runner, you start out knowing how long you want to run.  Whether it is two miles or six miles.  A runner is determined, whatever they have decided to run, they expect to finish.  That same mental concept should be applied to our daily life. We should set goals in our life and expect to complete them. We must be willing to do whatever it takes to complete what we set out to do!
